Today I would like to meditate with you about the Church of Christ. In
fact, this is the central theme of my reflections lately. I have always talked
about the Church of Christ. I would like to start by saying that the Church's
organization, but it is not an organization. It is a living organism, because
it is a body. The Bible calls the body of Christ. Christ is the head of this
body. He drives his body. But I have thought that Christ has been head of the
"Churches". Observing the behavior of the people in
"Churches" we realized that many times ourselves who drove the Church
we call Church of Christ. It exists in the Local Church, level District level
and Regional . When is Christ who runs the Church are the interests of the
Kingdom of God to prevail over ours. But when we are ourselves who drove the
Church are our interests that prevail over the interests of the Kingdom of God.
It's been a long time since in the Methodist Church established the gifts and
ministries. It aimed to end a church of positions and establish a church
documents (services). But until now, thirty years later there is still
resistance to this program and many "Miss" of the Church of positions
where people very often in became eternal
There were also many "owners" of the Church at the Church. The
program was born to end it. But as there is resistance so far, I ask: How is it
working the Church of gifts and ministries? I would say that in almost all they
only changed its name and everything remained the same. The former
"owners" of the Church are still around, and always enter into a
Ministry thinking of sending, in directing all in the Church. There are
brothers and sisters who don't understand giving orders all the time in the
Church. Always want to enforce their views at the expense of others ' opinion
or the other. This is a disaster! The meetings don't listen to others and when
they hear they do already with the criticism and disapproval ready in their
mouths. When the pastors speak always there are people who insist on their
ideas without heed their spiritual leaders. How is it bad for the Church of
Jesus and to the Ministers and the Ministers of the Gospel. There are brothers
and sisters who do not realize, but with his actions make it clear that they
intend to be always the right ones and that others have to accept their ideas.
Get furious if it does not. Are people who try all the time to influence the
others in the Church. It is everywhere. But among the leaders is more present,
more strongly perceived. In the biblical text of this reflection Pall urges us
saying that the Church as a body has many members that those members are
distinguished, with different functions, but all are interconnected and belong
to the same body. So one should work always considering the roles of others and
feel dependent on the other. There are no independent members in the body and
not a Member more important than the other. When I criticize someone in love
with the growth, the correction of this person is very good and does well. But
usually we hurt ourselves with our criticism and that's too bad and hurt. No
one is better than the other in the body of Christ. We are a body. This means
that I'm part of you and you're a part of me. We are one in Christ and he is
the head that drives us. That's why we must be humble. Who is humble and knows
how to accept others. But the presumptuous would never do that. He fancies
himself the "know it all".
Sisters and btothers that have hindered the development of a church of
the gifts and ministries and are disrupting the project also a church of
Discipleship, of small groups. We have people who want to draw all to himself.
The spotlight needs to be on them all the time. People do things always
thinking about their personal profits. Or be: Themselves. Read Philippian. 2:3
and whining. We've been afflicted and questioning why the Church does not walk,
do not grow and not thriving. It would be interesting to think of all these
things. The rather than do this get a way to criticize a group or a person or
even the pastor. But we never auto- We
evaluate to view
our spiritual level. As we are as church body of Christ? We need to ask that
question all the time.
We are a Church body of
Christ. We are a group that really go together where all are equal and have the
same value. This will end with the offense and the Church of "owners"
and lead us to live in full communion with each other. Have you ever noticed
how people fight in churches? They like curse? How to get hurt? In no other
place if talk of love as in the Church. In no other place is spoken both in
church communion. But unfortunately see little practice of love and communion
in practice in churches. We turn our eyes to the biblical text to the right of
the message and think on the roles of the members in the body of Christ, Amen
