My brothers and my sisters I would like today,
after a long time, of to talk about cells. I realize that although we have spoken a
lot about this is happening the same thing that happened with the program Gifts
and ministries in the Church. To this day we don't know work well in the
Church. I remember that initially didn't talk another
language except this. The idea was well aware the church about the program. Yet
30 years later still not many people fully integrated into the program. What
happened? Lack of disclosure? Don't. There was a lack of interest in inquiring
about what it is and how it's done running the program Gifts and ministries. I
started two years before the discipleship be made official in the Church to
talk about it. I did a lot of sermons on the topic, because it was my
knowledge. I formed a group of leaders and starting work in cells.
I recreated the studies with the Gifts and
ministries program for something not to be confused with another. There was no
interest too. When the church made way to evangelize through cells we should be
way ahead by so much that if you had done and talked about it. Yet we know
almost nothing. What would have happened? There is no other way to evangelize
in the Methodist Church today. This work is done through the cells. But what
worries me is the small number of interested in participating. For all this I
decided to write this message on the subject. We conceptualize. A church in
cells is that Church where everything is done through the cells. The Member has
a difficulty and searches for the pastor and the pastor sends him searching for
his boss in the cell. Tithes are collected in the cells, baptisms are made in
cells, etc. Already in a with cells is different. The cells are small groups
that meet to exchange experiences, testimonies, Biblical readings, sharing,
fellowship and growth. We believe that small groups of people are getting
closer to more of the other and it is a lot easier to evangelization.
We all know, but it's always good to repeat why
cells. Because we are working growth. But the growth in the same way as they
grow the cells. When we were still an egg, were only one cell. After fertilized
the egg has become two cells, then four, eight, 16, 32, 64, 108, 216, 432 and
so on. With this kind of increased always bending the body was growing. The
Church aims to cell growth. The idea is we're always bending. Whenever we cut
the size of a cell that should be split in two, and so we're growing. The
participants of the cells or small groups are urged to attend church and it they
inventory with members. In other words, in a church with cells the new people
converted are always directed to the Church. Public celebrations are encouraged
and public services will never be replaced by meetings of the cells. The cells
are instruments of church growth.
Jesus worked like this for 2000 years. He had the
crowds who spoke in a more widespread had the disciples who were a more select
group and even among these disciples Jesus had a group closer to how we see the
trio, Peter, James and John.
We need work like this in the Church today. There's
no way to grow efficiently, empowered and well grounded unless through well-organized
cells working well within the Church.
It doesn't really matter if we're a Church in cells
or cells. But I reaffirm that we are a church with cells. Then my brother or my
sister open yours homes and create a cell. Be nice to everyone involved in this
work.
Rev. Jesué Francisco
da Silva.
