PATORAL WORD: JESUS IS TELLING US: EXTEND YOUR HAND. (Marc. 3:1-6)

My brothers and my sisters today I would like to reflect with you on this subject proposed above. Jesus enters the Home of one of the leading Pharisees and there is a man who had a disease very common nowadays, but certainly at that time not. The man had a parched hands. Too dry. I looked for the cause of such a problem and found out that this dryness can be caused by a dropsy. Dropsy is a problem that prevents the full circulation of liquids in some parts of the body or the whole body. Obviously over time it can become dryness. That is, the Member or the places of the body affected are dryness. This man of our history. But the Pharisees were observing Jesus to see if the cure on Saturday to have than the charge. Jesus was eccentric and he was always on the wrong side of the Pharisees. So they hated him. Jesus before question whether or not it is lawful to heal on the Sabbath. They are quiet. Jesus then invites the man to the middle and says: hold your hand. He extended and had fully restored. How many drugs would be needed for that to happen!
But I want to take some lessons to our lives today practices. first let's think about the following: how many times have we hit the designs of God in our midst, in our churches because of the inflexible observation of our institutions? Many times. Especially we have very carefully with the institutions. Stuck to the laws which have created over God's work on name of these "laws". The law is good and is of God, but it becomes a problem to God himself. He wants to act, but we wouldn't let him act because our law says this and that. What a disaster! And the Methodist Church is full of that sort of thing. Full of behaviors as a well. I think that's why the Church doesn't get to walk. Are programs and more programs, projects and more projects that do not leave the place of the strong emphasis that we weigh them. The point is that we give with one hand and take with the other. But Jesus is concerned about other things. So what should we do? Or how to do it? Another lesson in the text. What was the priority for Jesus? The human being who suffered. People always have priority for Jesus. The laws must exist in order to benefit people. When they get in the way I'm afraid have the sensitivity to stay beside the people even if it goes against the laws. What say the laws? OK. But what are the needs of the people involved? I think I agree with Jesus we should prioritize the needs of the people.
Stretch out your hand. Yes this is another teaching in the text. There may not be any favorable situation that we must extend our hand when Jesus sends. What Jesus is sending our Church do now? Cure the sick that need reach him to be cured despite laws that say no. It's a time to choose my brothers and my sisters. We must trust Jesus and reach out, even if it is against some legalistic principles. It holds and kills the walk to church. Get out of legalism and stay with the Lord Jesus. Obey the law even where Jesus also obeyed. The birth of there stay with the beloved Master. This prison to legal precepts are in the local churches, district, regional and especially in the General area of the Church. The Church cannot go like this. The needs of people must be prioritized. Amen.
