My sisters and my brothers today I would like to
meditate with you on this subject which I think is fantastic. Look at the words
of the psalmist: In your light we see light. It seems a simple game of words,
but it's not on. The contrary is a very serious sentence and that our behavior determines
and can change the course of our lives. Actually the psalmist speaking we see the
light for the second time is telling us to see clearly the path to be followed
by us when we have the lighting of God. Many tragedies happen in people's lives
and homes today. Terrible things are happening to human beings who frighten us.
Kids are hating their parents, parents are hating the children and people in
general are hating each other. One became the other competitor and not similar
as in fact we were raised. Kill people as if they were bugs. Parents kill their
children without the slightest feeling of guilt and are still lying to the
media and to the world in the greatest tranquility. We are
stunned by what we see happening. In fact people are blind. Corruption is at
loose in all spheres of society. Don't miss a thing where the corruption is not
present. Seems to be fulfilling the prophecy of Ruy Barbosa, who said:
"there will be a time when they can find an honest man with a candle lit
in broad daylight and they won't find". Why all this? In my view is the
lack of God. People without God does not come. The only thing I think who they
are seeing in fact themselves. Think, because whoever lives if corrupting,
killing, hating, etc. Actually they not love nor himself around who think they
are living. All this because they not has the light of God shining in their
hearts.
Dear and beloved only when we
have the light of God in we, we can see everything around with clarity. Without it everything is foggy,
tenuous. A person without God is nothing more than an animal. And I'd say, worse
than the irrational animals because they are intelligent and they conspire evil
against those who should be his peers.
But you would question me saying:
But Pastor, we're inside a church and you are writing for the members of a
church. Here there is no such thing. Good. Let's look inside ourselves and ask
with sincerity if it even exists. Do it from ourselves. As we have acted
towards others? What place that others occupy in our lives? We are loving how
the word of God recommend? The Bible tells us that we owed love as Jesus loved.
The theology of Methodism believes in Christian perfection. But that Christian
perfection is the perfection of Matthew Chapter five verse forty eight that says: So thirsty you
perfect as perfect is your father who is in heaven. (Words of Jesus Christ in
the Sermon of the mountain). That perfection would that be? Of course it comes
to perfection in love. Is the ability to love. Here I again I ask: we passed
the test? Don't just happen in the Church things about which we speak up?
Dear God have mercy of you and me and we shall
regret of our sins and live a new life before God and men and why not say in
front of ourselves. Jesus Christ is at the gates to come to look for his
Church. Be ready for this inevitable meeting. Away from us the disaffection,
the sorrows, the hatred, the lies, corruption. We will fill our hearts of love
that comes from God. For this we must see the light of the knowledge of God to
be illuminated in our walk. Hence the expression: "In your light we see
light". Only in the light of God we see with clarity the things to be
always well with everyone and provided peace! We have seen a an old campaign
with a new clothes. Is a campaign against the war. But there is an insinuation
to having sex at any cost. Or be: In any situation. Don't go there. The
narration with the caption is: "make love. Don't do war ". We know that without God, without the light of God people
will understand the campaign as an appeal to sex made to a default and they
will continue living in hatred the same thing as before. Yes we need live and
insist on the practice of the love of God in their hearts. This love is the
light of which we all need to see the walk we're treading. Amen.
