My sisters and my brothPASers today I would like to
speak as guys on the topic proposed above. Or be: rest in Jesus. But pastor
that is so obvious that it deserves explanation. Jesus offers rest. But I have
to ask: how many of us really rest in Jesus? The answer would be obvious: too
few people actually rest in Jesus. Well, if He offers rest at all why the
majority don't have the rest? Of course there are some paths through which we
must pass that enable us to this rest. Let's think a little about these paths?
First. Confidence. Yes so we can rest in Jesus we need to trust in him. Friend
and dear, we really trust Jesus to which we deliver our problems? Because what
we tired are exactly the uncertainty with reference to tomorrow. What's going
to happen next? The not knowing this brings us to anxiety and fear and insecurity.
The psalmist in Psalm. 37: 5 says "turn in your way to the Lord, trust in
him and as he will do". The problem is that we deliver, but we don't trust
really in the Lord. Once in my life I was going through a very difficult
situation in personal life. Needed a lot and had nothing, nor how to get. I
went to visit a Lady of almost ninety years and told her my situation. She
asked me: do you believe in who preaches? Yes. Replied. So let me tell you a
story, she said. One day a lady had left home and left his baby alone with his
father. This parent had a wood shop in the basement of the House. Downstairs
was very dark and could only work with
the lamps lit. A big storm and the power is over. The little boy who was on top
got scared and called by father downstairs. In the living room there was a
trapdoor through which access to the joinery was possible. The boy opened the
trapdoor was still screaming for his father. Downstairs the father could see
the kid upstairs and said: my son Jump. Daddy hold you. The boy said, but I
can't see him Daddy! The father said: but I can see you. Skip that I hold you.
The boy jumped into the dark and the father could see him caught him in his
arms. This lady finished the story and told me; Pastor even though Sir isn't
watching out jump into the arms of God. Jump in the dark that God catches you
in his arms. Sisters and brothers that lesson! I got out of that House very
comforted. And my life has been like that. When God tells me Yes, Satan
arranges a way to say no. So I keep believing in God yes and relying on the
strength of his power when everything seems to go wrong. So I repeat: one of
the ways to get rest in Jesus's trust in him. Even if all say otherwise trust
Jesus. He said whatsoever thing that you ask in prayer believing you've
received so it will be with you. The second thing is we learn from Jesus. He is
the master and model of all things. To rest in Jesus we have to be meek. Jesus
was tame. Was to death and death on a cross. Isaiah says that he was taken as a
sheep to the slaughterhouse and opened not his mouth. It was like dumb sheep.
All and all, and those who want to rest in Jesus have to learn that. Be meek.
But master says and humble of heart. The third thing is humility. It is
essential in the process of relationship submissive to Christ. When we learn to
be humble will be resting in the Lord and we will no longer live stressed about
anything. God will provide everything. Amen.
