My sisters
and my brothers today I would very much like to meditate with you on the topic
proposed above, the glory of the Lord. There's a lot of speculation about what
it would be like the glory of God. But the most likely is that it was like a
bright light and its brightness was incomparable and not confused with someone
else by intense that would be when someone by that glory had no doubt that it
was the presence of God. This brightness was seen by Paul on the Damascus road,
then by Paul and Silas in jail, and on many other occasions. Even today in our
days there are many people who see the presence of God in the form of bright
light. I can imagine what that's like. In the home of Paul the same blind. But
that glow had something to do with fire. Because at that time had not been
discovered the electric light. Here in the text of today we have this glory
being view. The
interesting thing is that the House, in this case, the Temple of the Lord was
full of cloud and smoke. A demonstration like this happens when Solomon
delivers God's House that David his father had started. The priests could not
teach because a filled House and cloud glory of the Lord filled the temple. As
I said above I can imagine how this Glory. But it must be something
magnificent. In the case of Paul on the road to Damascus was much stronger than
the sunlight. On the Mount of Transfiguration was too intense, too, that the garments of Jesus white as no in
this world could do. Hallelujah! It is
clear to us that this glory is unambiguously the presence of God. (Mat. 17:
1-8). And as in the original text of this meditation here also heard the voice
of God speaking in the cloud. In the Time of Moses and God's voice spoke to him
in the middle of the cloud too. (Ex. 19: 9-29).
But my sisters
and my brothers the common thing is that in all cases people needed to be
prepared, sanctified to those sublime moments. Moments that would mark their
lives forever. In Joshua 3: 5 Joshua said unto the people, sanctify yourselves
because tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. See, that's not
"that" the Lord will make it "because" the Lord will. The
sanctification was not to determine the wonders. The Lord would do them anyway.
Holy was so that the people were ready to see what you would do. (Heb. 12:14)
says you need sanctification to see Lord. Without which no one will see the
Lord. "Which" is pronoun. And in this case indicates the
sanctification, because the text says follow peace with all and sanctification.
"and" is additive conjunction, so the word "what" that is
pronoun refers to sanctification.
But because I
would be doing a study of this here? Without a doubt so that all understand
that to feel the God whose presence is real here in his House it is essential
that we in holiness of life. Without that nobody sees and not feel anything
from God. The greatest song that we have
news to this day is the song of angels before God. You know what they say? Holy!
Holy! Holy!
Here I leave
an appeal to the Church: Seek the holiness of life to get here. But right here.
There is no need to seek elsewhere. Seek here the presence of the Lord and Holy
we will feel it in our hearts so unequivocal, which cannot be mistaken we feel
his presence. Amen?!
