PASTORAL WORD - WHO MUST HAVE TIME IN CHURCH? THE OLD PEOPLE OR THE YUNUG PEOPLE? -Genesis 2: 4; I Tim. 4:12.

Dear Sisters and brothers today I would like to reflect with you on the subject above the light of the word of God. Without going into theological debates and, on the other hand do not use the texts as pretexts to think about it. Normally we have in many cases even prejudices now in relation to young people, sometimes in relation to older. Sometimes we think young people do not serve because they don't have experience, but we also found that old people don't serve because you've lost your physical and cognitive capacity. It's good to say that in both cases we can be wrong. I believe that when we evaluate the ability of a person by his chronological age we can't get carried away by subjectivity and many fewer for appearances that we deem to be correct because it may not be the right ones. So the correct way is an evaluation of each person because each is each and all of us know that people for many reasons, are not equal. But what you see are that superficial and subjective evaluations   and in this case especially of the old. We think every person reaches a certain age do not serve more simply by age without analyzing the physical and cognitive ability of this person. Don't put that on the table and we think, he or she is thus or roast because of its age. We may be wrong, because other factors may be in play or even something having nothing to do with the other. Let's see the age of Abram when called by God. Seventy-five years old. He not argued his age and much less God observed that to call him. Something important and worthy of note is that even at that age when calling Abram God makes promises saying among other things that he would be the father of a great nation. And all was fulfilled completely. Another interesting thing is the story of Moses and his brother Aaron. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they were called to liberate the people from slavery in Egypt. Why is that? Because God does not look according to our values criteria so limited and often find such absolute and decisive. God needs the experience of old to lead his people. However nowadays living in a world where everything is disposable has Church ready to disclaim their pastors to sixty-five years old of age to surrender youth spaces. I would like to tell you something important, I went to go to Brazil seminar Prep for the pastoral ministry. Her in the fields I have learned that old experience when coupled with strength of young becomes a unbeatable power. And as I learned that? Now, seeing and learning to tame steers. If we put a tourniquet on his own in the plow or in the carriage he was beating all jumping all day. But then if placed on one side of the yoke an ox pretty old and the other the New ox. While the new ox jumped the old ox looked peaceful and held him. The next day the new ox jumped less and soon was as Meek as the old. What was that? Old experience controlling the impetuousness of youth. There is no need to have preconceptions. God needs them both. In the Church we should always observe this principle. Paul was already old and trusted young Timothy and did not allow the same had scorned his youth. What prejudices? This leads the Church to lose a lot. Use the force young beautiful without giving up the experience of our old and we will see how the Church of Christ will grow. Today I am considered old. But I was young and I am well aware that my Ministry at all decreased. Quite the opposite has grown a lot. Almost and everything and in all things I have a little experience. The Bible does not show a God that makes that distinction. Shows a God who calls and uses who
He wants. The call of God for God is not conditioned to human prejudices. The call of God should not be conditioned to human values and the human values to the call of God.
We have very carefully both the deem our youngsters unable because they are young as to our old for the same reasons in opposite directions. Let's pray that our
Councils Review positions that are evidence of this. Let's pray we care when we deem that we call the production of our old because the problem may be another and in this case we're sinning even thinking to be doing the best.
These recommendations are valid for both the institutional Church and the local churches. We need the Timoteos, but we also need the Abrons, of Moiseses and of Arons.
The Church of Christ cannot enter the game in the world of post-modern discard things especially their pastors. The renewal will come naturally without the need of this expedient. Amen?!
