PASTORAL WORD-HOW
WE SHOULD BEHAVE TO OUR LANGUAGE IN THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST?
My brothers
and my sisters I think is no longer anything new to get the Newsletter of our
Church in Lins and read a meditation my talking about the behavior of the
Church of Christ.
Today I would
like to draw attention to a kind of thing as common, however so disastrous in
the Church. When talking about the subject people start to laugh because they
know that evil exists in all media evangelicals. But the fact of being an evil
should serve for that we rejected in our environment. But not always do. But
pastor! What are you talking about? That nasty thing is this? I'm talking about
a small organ that we have in our mouths called tongue. He's little, but he's
responsible for formulate the words through which we communicate. Without that
organ the sounds emitted by our vowel sounds would only strings. But the
formula language words. And are exactly the words that can make a difference.
Words can give life, but the words also can kill. Depend on the way we talk and
what we speak of or about people. Generally we like to talk about the other or
the other. We're skilled in criticize others. Usually we do negative people
with relative ease. When we have the opportunity to comment on people's lives
and particularly if we are evaluating, until we speak: I really like Guy or
girl, but ... The one that comes after the "but". If we love the
people about whom we are talking why then we played mud on top of these people?
Who hears certainly wonder: and if you don't like a lot of people like them or
do they say? We ordered outside. Without like what could happen? The thing is
clear. We don't love each other and we don't like swim of those people who we
say that we like, because it true we
don't we would don't evil to them. Didn't we kill with our tongues.
I don't have
after all these years of pastoral ministry the slightest problem that many
families are out in our communities because of the slander
that exists in our churches. Also I am sure that the day of the encounter with
Jesus many of us will have the unhappy surprise to be put out by kill our
brothers and our sisters. To try to fix it. But as James says, we've killed.
This tongue is deadly poison. I have always stated that trying to fix something
that destroyed with our tongues and even to climb in a tall building in day of
winds and there, open a bag of feathers of birds, we play in the air and then
try to retrieve those feathers. Would it be possible? Of course not. So happens
when caused the damage in people with our tongues. (James, 1:26; Psalm, 35:13; Prov. 18:21 EC. 5:7; CF. With the Psalm, 34:13).
So I'm sure
many evils in our communities are caused by our tongues. I am also sure that
this practice is evil and is a sin. We have a list of sins and many times we
judge and accuse people having this list as a base. However we can be on the
list of who can't curb our tongues. James says that the tongues is worse than
the horses meet the brakes (head collar) and she (tongues) does not.
With the
unrestrained tongues we can put one person against the other, create
speculation around a subject, false expectations on people, sadness in others,
we create things that never existed and so on. To repeat an example: a person
comes to the door of the Church after the service and comments with the other: Today
I didn't like the preaching of Pastor. Who hears can talk to another person:
Guy told me he didn't like the preaching of pastor. But this third party can
also comment with another as follows: Guy told me that so-and-so you talked to
don't like of the pastor. What was the original conversation? "I didn't
like the preaching of pastor today". You know how the culture of gossip,
gossip can destroy within the Church?
We must and
we need to take care not to practice other types of sins. But we must take care
of our tongue. It is indomitable and have deadly poison, is fire and a world of
iniquity according to the word of God in the base text of this message.
That God have
mercy on us and help us to control our tongues. Amen
Rev. Jesué Francisco da Silva.
