My brothers
and my sisters today once again I would like to talk about this text the word
of God. Especially when God sends the Prophet speak. Before I would like to
comment that we have a concept is not always very clear of Prophet and
prophecy. Generally we understand as a prophet that or that it has the
capability to guess, predict the future. Say what's going to happen. This can
occur. But prophecy goes way beyond that But prophecy goes way beyond that. A prophet is
often the one who says something that is happening in the present and from
there makes a forecast of what's to will come as a consequence. The prophet
Ezekiel is a contemporary of the Prophet Jeremiah. Jeremiah just before he is
sent to prophesy to the people of God which is in decline because of his sin. Of
course. The Prophet is not heard by the "people of God" that
continued moving away more and more of the ways of the Lord. When the people
were totally lost and hope had vanished too. The people died. Turned into a
large Valley of dry bones. But God is very merciful never abandons his people
even being so rebellious and calls the Prophet tells him to talk to these
people who are spiritually dead. It's always good to remember that the text
comes from a vision that God gives to the Prophet. It wasn't something real,
but a vision for things to be clear to the Prophet and the people of Israel so
far away from the Lord his God. In the vision the bones were not only dry, but
were dry. In other words, very, very dry. Without a chance to get back to
living. There was no recovery. So much that the Lord asks the Prophet if those
bones could revive and he says: Lord, you know. Really in a situation like that
only God can know.
But the word
of the Lord is firm: Prophesies to these bones to live. At the time the Prophet
begins to prophesy the bones begin to move. It was bone that was looking for a
bone. Dear, that's when the people of God (the Church) is dead anyway God sends
their Prophet announce life. When that happens people start to organize. God
does not work without organization. Before anything it organizes the people
in disarray. In the vision each bone joined his bone then the nerves came,
grew up on meat and the skin stretched over the bodies. But they were still
without life. God orders the Prophet to prophesy the life. He does and those
dry bones if they walk an army on numerous mode.
Many times I
wonder about us while Church nowadays and I feel me scared. There seems to be
no more life, no hope for the people of God (Christ Church) there is a lot of
noise and a lot going through Church. But if we are sincere when we look at we
see that they don't have the qualities to be Churches of Christ. At that point
we were desperate to see the true Church die. Then the Lord commands to the
prophets for they will prophesy one life about his beloved Church. When that
happens, God miraculously restores his Church. The God of power. She is reborn
from the ashes and put up and full of power. the moment when God I think we've
reached wants to do that with his Church. When the Lord Jesus returns the
Church will be here revitalized and ready to rise and reign with him forever. Hallelujah! Amen.
